Traditional Pancakes
Heat grill to medium high with a tablespoon of heat stable oil such as grape seed or coconut oil.
In a small mixing bowl blend until smooth:
- 1 cup Marilyn’s GFG Multi-Purpose Baking Mix
- ¾ cup milk or milk substitute
- 1 large egg
Batter should be thin and smooth. Pour 1/8 cup of batter onto hot griddle. When 22 bubbles appear, it is time to flip pancakes. Serve warm with your favorite topping. Approximately 14, 4” pancakes.
Waffles
Pre-oil and pre-heat waffle iron. Using a high temperature oil such as grape seed oil will allow an easier release of the waffle from the iron.
- 1 ¼ cups Marilyn’s GFG Multi-Purpose Baking Mix
- 3 TBSP oil
- 1 large egg
Whisk all ingredients together in a small mixing bowl. Batter should be slightly thick. Pour batter into hot griddle, leaving room for batter to spread. Waffle irons have a signal to let you know when the waffle is done. You can also tell by the steam escaping from the sides of the iron–once the steam has stopped the waffle is done being lightly browned and crispy.
Leftovers: Simply save them for a quick breakfast, dinner, or dessert. Be sure they cool completely, then wrap in plastic wrap and freeze. Pop the frozen waffles into a toaster when you are ready to serve!
